While the food is decent, I wouldn’t say it is the “best” schnitzel. The skin separates from the meat and for the amount of meat we got, 27 euros is pretty overpriced. We cut open the schnitzel only to have most of it being air 😂. It also wasn’t hot, nor was it crispy.
The beef tartar was good, worth a try - love how it’s paired with sour cream for an extra touch.
Really excellent resteraunt. Great care taken with the quality and presentation of the food. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with friendly and very professional staff. Booking advised
This is undoubtedly one the finest and friendliest restaurants we go too in Europe. We travel back and forth from Croatia to UK every year, and we purposely stop in Salzburg to come here. The family run business is in a great location, small and cosy atmosphere, with amazing food and wine dishes and pleasent music in the background. Verena and her brother Alex are the best hosts, the other front of house staff are extremely polite and the chefs are clearly superb.
Our go to off the menu, is their famous pork knuckle and Weiner schnizel dishes. Josanna grand curvee red is to die for, we love it enough to buy cases of it on our way home.
Don't listen to the few brutish reviews, if you are down to earth, friendly and enjoy a good feed, don't look any further.

The sink was smelly that it needed to be covered with a towel not to sleep in the smelly air. The glasses provided as well as the cups of the toothbrush were dirty. The toilet and shower not in the room but in the hall downstairs. When pointing out the smell the next day we were not taken seriously. Never will go back.
The food is absolutely delicious! Best schnitzel I’ve ever had - Applause to the kitchen!! The service is also quick, very kind and always ready for a little joke. We will definitely be coming back !!
Service is great. The coffe and classic homemade vanilla chocolate cake are awesome. I didn’t try the veal escalope so next time I will try it.
I wasn't amazed at all. The food was ok but it was not very tasty the portions were just enough The only reason I don't give a 3* is because I don't want to downgrade the restaurant and the location/surroundings was nice.
800 year old building, very cool. No ac, but they provided a fan. The bed was great, bathroom huge and nice. The staff were excellent. Right in the middle of old Salzburg, near the cathedral.
